What I learned from writing (almost) every day:
- Carving out time each day takes dedication and commitment.
- Writing is more fun, more rewarding and more exciting when you have others to support you.
- Slicing is a practice in mindfulness, a challenge to be present to the moment.
- Sometimes I write for myself. I process emotions. I sing my own praises. I play with words and phrasing. I stretch my writer’s muscles, and breath in deep the force of life’s experiences.
- Sometime I write for others. I write to inspire writers. I write to give voice to the unheard. I write to capture moments that I must let go of, but don’t want to ever forget.
- I found a slew of new and inspiring websites and blogs from the other contributors. My RSS feed has grown quite a bit.
Erin,
Thanks for sharing this list and your life this month. You’re passion and joy for teaching is evident and I always appreciated your words. Numbers 4 & 5 on your list spoke to me.
Thanks for sharing,
Ruth
I like your list, wish I had written it. It sums up everything I’ve been thinking. “Present in the moment” really fits into my thinking about writing. Thanks for sharing.
I like how you talked about writing both for yourself and for others and the reasons why you write. This helps me because I am thinking about my own purpose for writing. I love the way your writing always flows, both in your posts and your generous comments. 🙂
I enjoyed reading your posts throughout the challenge! I’m adding you to my blog roll! 🙂 –Jee Young
