In our classroom, I try to get a little bit of math into everything we do. The kids are in charge of reading the schedule, using the clock to figure out when their next specialist is. When we test how well a material muffles a sound, we determine the volume by measuring the distance in centimeters we have to move before we can no longer hear the sound. We use math to determine how far we should read, or how long we will sit for independent reading.
